Orange Strawberry Sorbet....so dang good!

I REALLY REALLY wish that I had gotten a picture of this because it was amazing!! My whole family raved about it....

3c of strawberries diced
1c of orange juice
1/2 c of sugar

First I cut up the strawberries into quarters equaling 3 c and put them in the blender and pureed them. You could also use a food processor but I do not have one. I then added the sugar and the orange juice. Mixed them all together and added them to the lovely ice cream maker that my family got me for my birthday and about 20-30 min later we were all enjoying the yummiest sorbet I have had in a long time....there were no leftovers.....

So on saturday me and the girls made the yummiest Beef Mushroom Stroganoff. I don't think the picture gives the dish much credit BUT it was delicious. I am going to include the recipe because it is one I will definitely cook again!!!
3 tbsp Butter
1 Lg onion diced
1 lb mushrooms sliced
1.5 cups beef broth
1.5 cups sour cream
3 tbps flour
1 lb beef (I used cross rib steak) cut in slices
8 oz noodles

Cook the noodles as instructed but don't start till you are making the reduction of the beef broth....I cooked mine to early...Ok to start melt your butter in the saute pan and add your diced onion season with some salt. After the onions are clear add the mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms are soft. Once the onions and mushrooms are soft remove from the pan leaving the juices and set aside.
Now you are going to add the beef broth and begin making a reductions still cooking over medium to medium low heat. In a separate pan add a little bit of oil and brown the meat slices (make sure to season with salt) once the meat is brown add it to the beef broth reduction and let it continue to cook.
Let the reduction go until it has reduced by about a 1/3. You then want to either add the drippings from meat pan or combine everything in the meat pan, beef broth reduction(which now includes the beef), mushrooms and onions all together. Remove from the heat and add sour cream which you have combined with the flour. Once you have everything combined then put it back on the heat and let it thicken. Once it has reached its desired thickness you serve it over your cooked noodles....it was absolutely delicious.

I found the recipe from allrecipes.com but changed it up a bit since we are definitely not vegetarians in this family.... we did try the parsley on top but do not recommend it....

First day of kindergarten and she loved every stinken' minute of it...She kissed me good bye as a formality but did not look back to see if I was sad at all....BIG GIRL!

Um so it has been a while since I have blogged anything....so I am going to do better of course I really couldn't do much worse! My kids have grown up quite a bit in last 2 years....yes that says 2 years...yikes! Sean in now 12 years old and in junior high which I have no idea how that is possible since I am only 21 or so.....Belle is a big time 5th grader and is involved in as many activities as possible! Natalia is 7 and has informed that she plays to tough to wear skirts anymore....(better watchout) and my "baby" Elianna is 5 and is a kindergartener....I thought I would celebrate the day of true freedom but it was really sad to shut that door in the my life and open a new one! I love my kids and will better about sharing their funny stories!
